			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When asked the question &#8220;where are you from&#8221;, Emily Bagdasarian is quick to respond, &#8220;I&#8217;m from all over the place&#8221;. During her lifespan of nineteen years, she’s lived in nine different homes ranging across the globe from Germany to Georgia. “A self proclaimed Army Brat,” she calls herself. Currently, Emily is a freshman at James Madison University studying anthropology and journalism. She travels home for the holidays to Northern Virginia where her loving mother and younger sister reside. Physically, she likes challenging her body, pushing herself to the limits. And she likes being the only one in her hall who’s ever completed Olympic and sprint distance triathlons. In high school, Emily served as Editor-in-Chief of Oakton’s Literature and Arts Magazine and wrote for her community newspaper The Connection. In 2009, she was awarded the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) “Design of the Year” Award for best magazine layout in the US. In her spare time, Emily enjoys throwing tennis balls for her bulldog Peekaboo, ice-skating, and playing Rummy with her mommy and sister.  Also, her favorite color is shiny. </p>

For this whole month, every day adding on to two months after a break up, I have been trying to find my word to fill in the blank&#8230;trying to figure out what I need to be. I knew I did not need to be thinking about the boy that broke my heart because thinking made me sad and I know that God wants me to be happy. I just thought every time I cried He was probably begging me to please be happy.<br />
JOHN 14:27 &#8220;Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.&#8221; I don&#8217;t want a troubled heart anymore. In accepting the peace given to me, I am committing to protecting that peace. I will not harbor unhealthy thoughts anymore.<br />
PHILIPPIANS 4:8 &#8220;whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things&#8230;and the God of peace withh be with you.&#8221; I think I&#8217;ve always looked at this scripture as saying I should always be thinking of rainbows and butterflies- not that that would be a bad thing because of course those are lovely. But I think it is really suggesting to be more exclusive with where your mind wanders. Simply do not welcome the angry, desperate, and hard thoughts. My head and my heart will be a place to cultivate tranquility. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For years I have been told that I have been destined for great things (just like we all are) but my dreams, the ones I can&#8217;t knock off, are big, huge, massive and scary! I&#8217;m determined to stop being afraid of the potential I have. To quote Marianne Williamson &#8220;Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won&#8217;t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It&#8217;s not just in some of us; it&#8217;s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others&#8221;</p>
